With 25 years of experience as a professional Project Manager, specializing in a range of industries from Business development to Construction Management – Richard combines his knowledge, and his passion for design, to build Hybrid Structures. Applying his extensive knowledge in supply management, he has been successful in bringing together some of the most unique renewable energy products available on the market. Moreover, he has worked ardently to bring together a talented and diverse group of renewable energy specialists. Since the creation of Hybrid Structures, Richard has succeeded in making this company viable on an international scale.
Scott - VP, Construction and Business Development.
Scott brings years of experience as the owner of a respected construction and renovation company. This experience includes hiring and dealing with carpenters and other tradesmen, as well as owning and operating specialized machinery and equipment required for the implementation of all construction projects.
Joe - Senior Project Manager.
As a renewable energy specialist, Joe brings 30 years of experience researching, developing, constructing and installing a wide range of environmentally sustainable technical solutions. With 10 years of experience as a Project Manager, he has tackled a wide range of projects; from developing wind turbines to constructing sea walls. From beginning to end, he conceptualizes all stages of project development, ensuring that our presence does not pose undue ecological damage. Being environmentally conscious, Joe enthusiastically conducts ongoing research and development in order to improve the technical efficiency and emission standards of energy systems.
Tony - Director, Marketing and Sales.
As the owner of one of the premier marketing and event management companies in Canada (Corporate Hype Inc) Tony has brought his knowledge to assist in the launching of innovative new HSIL products. With over 20 years of experience working as a Director of Sales and Marketing in the high tech industry and major sports marketing sectors, Tony has been instrumental in building and expanding the HSIL brand internationally.
Johanna - Director, Creative Communications.
As an artist and creative director, Johanna has led the creative division at HSIL to develop comprehensive marketing campaigns for a range of home construction and community development projects. Prior to her work with HSIL, she received a diploma in graphic design (with high honors). Since graduating, she has gained valuable experience in a range of professions in the field of communications, including: graphic design, advertising, marketing and consultation. Within the company, Johanna's roles include: Project Manager and Marketing Specialist. Bearing a strong competitive drive, Johanna has achieved great success within her position with HSIL by setting a high standard for all marketing campaigns created and executed by her team.
John - Lead Architect Designer.
Before pursuing his passion for home design, John proudly served in the Canadian Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Officer for 11 years. Upon leaving the service, he enrolled at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology where he earned his honours diploma in Architectural Technology. Before coming to work at Hybrid Structures, he created and managed Serendipity Residential Design and Drafting and Next Wave Architectural Design and Drafting, providing his services in Western Canada, and the Ottawa region, respectively. Cumulatively, his architectural experience has included hundreds of projects in conventional framing, timber framing, SIP construction, log home and straw bale design. John is a natural leader, and as our lead home designer he is dedicated to providing our clients with cleaner homes that pose less of an impact on the environment.
Tom - Architect Designer.
Tom is a graduate (with high distinction) of the Azrieli School of Architecture at Carleton University. Earning many academic accolades throughout his training; he has proven to be an innovator in his field. Working for local and international clients, Tom has designed 3D visualizations, designed additions and new homes for numerous clients. He has experience working with; architects, developers, industrial designers and artists. Specializing in rational architectural design, and structural logic and articulation, Tom brings a great deal of knowledge to our team.
Justin - Project Engineering Technician.
After living in British Columbia for most of his life, Justin moved to Ottawa and studied robotics, computer hardware, software and programming in high school. After seeing the effects of some major computer companies falling such as Nortel, he decided to stay away from the field entirely. Justin spent four years building green homes with CCL Construction. Being a member of a small construction team, he had the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills. He used this experience to form his own construction crew in British Columbia and took part in the construction of a resort. Justin recently completed an advanced diploma in Civil Engineering Technology at Algonquin College. Currently, Justin is working with HSIL to research and develop new renewable energy technologies and implement more efficient and sustainable technological solutions for our clients. Justin plans to continue his education and earn his degree in Civil Engineering as well as study alternative energy solutions. He strongly believes that we are capable of developing cleaner technologies and raising awareness about sustainable energy solutions.
Rebecca – Senior Client Service Representative.
After working in the field of Human Resources with the Canadian Federal Government Rebecca chose to pursue post-secondary studies at Carleton University. As an Honours graduate in the field of Anthropology, she completed studies in Cultural/ Medical/ Biological Anthropology and Ecology and Culture. Rebecca’s prior experience includes working with the North Hastings Heritage Museum as an Assistant Curator as well as working with Rockland community leaders to develop a proposal to include ecological awareness within Primary schools. Rebecca is now working with HSIL as a Senior Client Service Representative and performing research in the area of sustainable development.
