What is a Moose Factory Cabin?

Our cabins are named after the Northern Canadian community of Moose Factory where the President and CEO of HSIL was born. This rugged community which is across from Moosonee on the Moosonee River holds a special meaning for him and has inspired the designs of our homes and cabins. Built to thrive in any climate - from the bitter -40°C winters to +40°C heat in the summer, we know what it takes to built homes in any climate.
We specialize in designing and building cabins, cottages, homes and complete communities that incorporate renewable energy solutions, as well as energy efficient technologies. The Moose Factory line of structures utilizes RE Systems that will reduce the need for expensive fuel consumption, and will make your Moose Factory home environment cleaner and eco-friendly.

When it comes to building homes; we pride ourselves in being able to offer our clients a variety of options that many contractors are unable to include in their services. We will collaborate closely with our clients in order to discuss what home specifications will suit your individual needs.

 

About Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs):
Hybrid Structures uses Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) to build our homes. This revolutionary technology allows us to build homes that are stronger, more energy efficient and affordable. Furthermore, by utilizing this technology, we are able to build these homes in a fraction of the time that it takes to erect conventional homes.

By using SIP panels, you can save up to 50% in heating and cooling costs because these panels create an unbroken envelope around the structure, which means that there are fewer thermal breaks in the structure. This is beneficial because it prevents the hot and cold air from escape through the cracks, and also prevents draft. When used with our thermal heating systems, you can save immensely on your home energy costs. Our SIP panels are CFC free.

Foundation Types

HSIL has experience constructing a range of home foundations.  Depending on the building location and our personal preference, you may choose from: slab on grade, complete basement or truss foundations.

At Hybrid Structures, we design our Moose Factory Cabins (homes) with our clients in mind. These homes are comfortable, healthy and energy efficient. We offer all of our clients 100% custom home designs; from traditional to modern style homes. Our design team will work with you to modify our sample designs, or create an original home that suits you.
